About Our Childcare Programs

Here at The Breakie Bunch Learning Center, our childcare programs are rooted in play, and our teachers and staff make sure to emphasize an appropriate balance of both child-directed and teacher-directed activities each day. We’re proud to say that our childcare curriculum focuses on the following vital child developmental skills:

  • Social-Emotional
  • Physical
  • Language
  • Cognitive
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Technology
  • Social Studies
  • The Arts
  • English Language Acquisition

At the Breakie Bunch Learning Center, it is our goal to support your children as they achieve appropriate goals based on their age and development. Beginning in our toddler class, children will participate in both large and small group activities as part of their daily routine. The entire Breakie Bunch staff is committed to providing your children with a curriculum that is purposeful, goal-oriented, and fun—no matter what the age group.

Our Daycare Classes

Teachers and staff at the Breakie Bunch have carefully cultivated six programs to serve the Waterford community and Goodrich. We know that every child is different and learns differently, so we take great pride in individualizing care as best we can to make sure all of our students are learning in class, and most of all, having fun!

Infant Care

Our Infant Care teachers take great pride in providing a safe and caring environment for children from six weeks of age to one year old. Infants are engaged in singing, reading, sensory play, motor, and language skills from day one. Our small class sizes, a maximum of eight infants, allows teachers to develop a meaningful bond with each baby, while also providing consistent communication with parents each day with the help of the Tadpoles app.

Young Toddler

At this age, children are introduced to new exciting sensory experiences as well as a more structured class. Our young toddlers learn through play about colors, numbers, shapes, and language. The teachers also introduce more structure to students, like eating snacks and taking naps together.

Toddler

This fun-loving, energetic age group is as curious as it is active. Our Toddler teachers do a great job channeling this energy into fun, hands-on activities that teach valuable social and educational skills that will last long after these toddlers leave our classrooms. But, most importantly, we let our toddlers enjoy their childhood by making sure that play and hands-on experiences are at the forefront of our teacher’s minds every day.

Preschool Prep

At age three, our students have developed exciting and individual personalities that we love to nurture and grow through a large variety of activities meant to provide a well-rounded education that readies them for preschool and beyond! Not only do we engage in group time often, but our preschool prep teachers also make sure to provide one-on-one time with students to make sure they’re getting the attention and time they need to thrive!

Preschool

The preschool curriculum here at The Breakie Bunch Learning Center relies heavily on activities that introduce language, literacy, math, science, sensory exploration, Spanish, sign language, and critical social skills! At the end of the preschool program, we hope to have cultivated independent, smart, fun-loving students who love to learn and have the confidence to succeed in Kindergarten! But no matter what, we believe that learning should always be fun, so we aim to provide happy childhood memories full of love, smiles, and laughter.

Summer Camp

Each year, we’re proud to offer a summer camp option for school-aged children, ages five to 12, that provides parents and caregivers with the peace of mind to know that their child is loved and learning through play all summer long! We want our campers to look forward to camp, so we work hard as a staff to provide them with fun, educational activities that keep them laughing and using their brains each day. Some highlights from our summer camp experience include:

  • In-school field trips
  • Special guest visits
  • Outside time
  • Water play
  • Art, sensory, and gross motor activities
